Watched the Chester friendly and thought Sturridge looked good but will he be with us when the transfer window closes? Keita slotted in better than Fabinho. The first half was poor and an animated Klopp showed he was not happy at the break

Fabinho sounds a sold and versatile addition. Him and Hendo in our midfield willl make a good pairing. But if we are going to spend £40 + other areas are a much higher priority- goalkeeper and strike. Hope we see exciting additions in these areas too. Feel we need something different up front sometimes. Gareth Bale why not is what I say!

My verdict on last night:
1) we need more strength in depth. Real Madrid could call on Gareth Bale from the bench. Who could we call upon?
2) we need a new goalkeeper and have done for several years. I’m not a big fan of Mignolet but I am as sure as I can be he would not have made two howlers like that. Klopp has been wrong to put his faith…[Read more]

We definitely need more depth – we have been saying that all season – yet we still finished in the top 4 and reached the CL final. You can’t blame Klopp for a ‘work in progress’ and ‘lack of trophies’ when teams like City, RM etc have massive squads and budgets too. Milner must be injured. He must be knackered with the shifts he has put in for us of late. Solanke is yet to convince me and I would have preferred to see Woodburn given a run out although I hope he comes on as a sub. I know we get another bite at the cherry on the 26th but it will be great to get this Champions League spot sorted today!

I hope Sadio Mane is fit for Rome on Wednesday! The rest of the changes make sense, or enforced. We seem down to our bare bones! Hope we don’t pick up any more injuries! We need at least a point!

At the moment, we can’t get out of our half – giving the ball away cheaply at not moving off the ball enough…
