Liverpool have agreed a deal to sign Arsenal and England midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. The deal, rumoured to be in the region of £40 million, follows talks with Arsenal earlier today. The England international, 24, had previously turned down a move to Chelsea making it clear that Anfield was his preferred destination. The Ox, as he is known, started for Arsenal at the weekend as they suffered a 4 – 0 drubbing and when he was substituted he received a round of applause from Red fans at Anfield. Liverpool have agreed a club record transfer fee for Naby Keita, who will move to Anfield on 1 July 2018. The summer-long pursuit finally came to a conclusion earlier today when the RB Leipzig midfielder completed a medical. Keita, 22, has a £48 million release clause, which comes into effect next summer, and it is understood the Reds have agreed to pay the release clause plus an undisclosed premium. The deal is in excess of the £35 million that took Andy Carroll to Anfield in 2011. The Guinea international is a box to box midfielder who combines tough tackling with plenty of dribbling skills. He scored eight goals and had eight assists in 32 appearances for RB Leipzig last season.
